Based in Richmond, Virginia, EMC Mechanical Services central location allows us to easily accommodate projects throughout the state as well as in our own hometown. And because of our affiliations with names such as American Refrigeration, Master Electric and Woodfin Oil Company, the whole world is our backyard. EMC has built relationships based on our superb service and value with clients across the United States, and even internationally.
Our Roots

Our roots go deep–all the way back to 1898, when Gregory & Graham provided heating and cooling solutions with COAL. EMC Mechanical Services has evolved over the course of a century from several companies which have been in Central Virginia since mechanical construction was still in its infancy. Some other familiar names in our history include Catlett-Johnson, Varina Refrigeration, Eveready Heating & Plumbing, and most recently Process Piping and Welding, Inc. As the industry has grown and changed, so have we adapted and expanded to meet the challenges of the future. Despite several decades and mergers, EMC remains a hometown company with hometown values; we are not a roll-up or corporate conglomerate. Our vision as we move forward to becoming employee-owned is to continue to build partnerships with companies that can aid us in serving our customers.
Affiliations
EMC Mechanical Services maintains affiliations with several other contractors, adding depth to the services EMC offers its customers.
American Refrigeration: This Jacksonville, Florida-based firm specializes in low-temperature refrigeration work, including ammonia refrigeration systems and food processing and storage. American Refrigeration has several satellite offices throughout the United States.
Master Electric: This Richmond-based union electrical contractor frequently works hand-in-hand with EMC.
Woodfin Oil Company: EMC utilizes Richmond-based Woodfin's 'Watchcard' fleet fueling system to keep our 182-vehicle fleet up and running throughout the state. |
